Glam Floor Lamps | Marc Sadler is a genius for quick yet unimaginable solutions
– take Twiggy, for instance, an easy, flexible arc lamp.
One day he got into the corporation and showed us something quite interesting: a fisherman’s rod.
The designer believes that this simple shape and suppleness with the material’s performance makes Twiggy unique and different through the other products out there: “The material is a carbon/fiberglass mix, assembled which has a binding resin. It has a high mechanical resistance and is also extremely light and ductile.” The fact that it’s ductile enables the roll-out of shapes which have been ‘stretched’ on the very limit and also to obtain unusually sized diffusers. The flexibility with the material defines the ample and essential curve with the arm that carries the lighting source through the base, which is height adjustable thanks to a system of counterweights, and length adjustable which has a list of arm extensions.

Twiggy Floor Lamp is made up of linear sections, just like a fisherman’s rod with the support to get a tent. When it’s taken apart it occupies very little space as soon as it’s assembled it curves harmoniously. A simple system of counterweights, in a very space higher than the diffuser, allows the height to get adjusted at distances of 5 cm.
Twiggy’s base is also inspired through the image of a fisherman’s rod placed in the soil, which has a simple, light disc that will not occupy much space. Yet, at the beginning with the project, it turned out a good metal body. Now it has become an easy task to insert anywhere, even by sliding it under a table, a chair or possibly a carpet.
Twiggy is a slender, natural symbol in space and thanks to this slender nature it could be marked with strong colors, to harmonize with virtually any environment or taste.
